I still hold that the first ever episode of Doctor Who 'An Unearthly Child' is one of the best single episodes in the entire history of the show. It's pure magic right through from the opening scene of the bobby and 76 Totter's Lane to the mysterious shadow at the end. William Harnell grabbed the imagination right from the start. I'm not just being nostalgic; this is what I think.
Many of the episodes from the second Doctor's tenure have sadly been lost; a shame really as I cannot remember much from this era.
The Doctor I grew up with. He was an all round good guy on and off the screen and my favourite Doctor. No dust settles on my collection of videos featuring the third Doctor.
There really aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe Tom's portrayal of the Fourth Doctor so I'm not even going to try.

After Tom Baker's seven seasons as the Doctor I was looking forward to a change and  we certainly got one: A young (looking) Doctor and the return to the idea of having three companions like the original Tardis crew. In retrospect one companion probably works best so it comes as no surprise that The Caves of Androzani is my favourite Peter Davison story.
Underrated Doctor. I'd really have loved to see what Colin could have done with the role given at least another couple more seasons. He really seemed to enjoy playing the Doctor and it's a shame he was cut off so abruptly.
I wasn't initially very excited about Sylvester taking over from Colin; but the little guy does grow on you.
